Welcome to Border Buddy!

Let's get your Pay First extension set up. This takes about 5 minutes.

Use your @borderbuddy.com email address

Install the Chrome Extension

Follow these steps to add the Border Buddy extension to Chrome.

Download the extension

Click the button below to download a zip file.

Download Extension

Unzip the file

Find border-buddy-extension.zip in your Downloads folder. Double-click it to unzip. You should now see a folder called border-buddy-extension.

Can't find it? Open Finder, click "Downloads" in the sidebar, and look for the zip file.

Open Chrome's Extensions page

Copy the address below, paste it into Chrome's address bar at the top, and press Enter.

Important: You must paste this into the address bar (where you type website URLs), not the search bar. Clickable links to chrome:// pages are blocked by Chrome for security.

Turn on Developer Mode

Look in the top-right corner of the extensions page. You'll see a toggle labeled "Developer mode" — click it to turn it on (it should turn blue).

Click "Load unpacked"

Three new buttons will appear at the top-left. Click the one that says "Load unpacked".

A file picker will open. Navigate to your Downloads folder, select the border-buddy-extension folder (the unzipped one, not the .zip file), and click "Select".

Pin the extension to your toolbar

Almost done! Look at the top-right of Chrome for the puzzle piece icon (Extensions menu). Click it, then find "Border Buddy" in the list and click the pin icon next to it. The Border Buddy icon will now always be visible in your toolbar.

Connect to Pipedrive

Now let's connect the extension to your Pipedrive account. This is a two-part step.

Part A: Get your API token from Pipedrive

Open your Pipedrive API settings

Click the link below to go directly to your API key page. Log in if prompted.

Copy your API token

You'll see a long string of letters and numbers labeled "Your personal API token". Click it to copy it to your clipboard.

Part B: Paste it into the extension

Click the Border Buddy icon in your Chrome toolbar

Look for it in the top-right of Chrome (you may need to click the puzzle piece icon first).

Click "Open settings" at the top

You'll see a message that says "Pipedrive API token required." Click the "Open settings" link.

Paste your token and click Save Settings

Paste the API token you copied from Pipedrive into the field, then click "Save Settings". You'll see a success message confirming the connection.

Set Up Your Booking Link

When a customer pays for a consulting session, they'll get an email with a link to book a time with you. Let's set up your calendar.

Open Google Calendar

Go to calendar.google.com using your Border Buddy Google account.

Create an appointment schedule

Click the + button next to "Other calendars" or go to your appointment scheduling settings.

Set the title

Name it: "Border Buddy Consultation - [Your Name]"

Set the duration to 30 minutes

Choose your availability windows (the times you're free for calls).

Add your meeting method

Choose phone, Google Meet, or Zoom — whatever works best for you.

Save and copy the booking link

After saving, open the booking page and copy the link. Then paste it below.

You're All Set!

Your Pay First extension is ready to go. Here's how to use it:

1. Click the Border Buddy icon in Chrome

Look for it in your toolbar (the puzzle piece area).

2. Search for your Pipedrive deal

Type the company or contact name to find the right deal.

3. Pick the country and fee, then send the payment link

Choose Canada or US, select the fee type, and hit send. Done!

The system handles everything else.

Pipedrive updates, customer emails, and your confirmation email are all automatic.
